Why I purchased it: to facilitate my creative writing process |
Literature and Latté is a sotware company “founded by writers for writers,” according to their “About Us” page. Their Scrivener offers a number of features aimed at simplifying novel writing. My favorite feature is the chapter “binder,” which houses chapters and scenes I create and allows me to manipulate them as I please. When I want to save and protect my completed novel or what’s written of it, I compile my manuscript (MS) into WORD and PDF formats (other formats are available), then email them to myself and/ or print the MS out. I love the “Synopsis” and “Notes” sections to the right of my main document, where I jot major scene elements, keep track of time, setting, and/or plot goings on, and/or my own considerations about the scene. Occasionally, I use the character-sketch template. A search box allows me to look for overused words, while the “find and replace” feature allows me to change a character or place’s name with simple entries into a couple of boxes. Because Scrivener offers too many features to list in this “nutshell,” I recommend you learn more about the software on Literature and Latte’s website. * This Scrivener review reflects how I’ve chosen to use this novel writing software. Writers can use as many or as few features as they need to simplify their writing process. ★Worth the purchase! |
